Connectivity Supports Safety

Understanding the Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment (BEAD) Program
The BEAD Program, part of the federal Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, allocates $42.45 billion to expand high-speed internet access across the United States—especially in unserved and underserved communities.
While BEAD is primarily focused on broadband infrastructure, its outcomes may have a direct impact on emergency preparedness and community safety. Faster, more reliable communication networks can improve access to help during emergencies. Connected safety infrastructure, such as emergency phones or communication towers, often rely on broadband connectivity to function.
Remote or rural communities may be better equipped to coordinate responses and alerts with the aid of upgraded internet infrastructure.
BEAD funding is administered through your state's broadband office.

Together, broadband access and public safety work hand in hand to support healthier, safer communities.
At Code Blue, we believe access to help should be available everywhere. While we are not affiliated with the BEAD program or involved in its funding process, we recognize the important role broadband plays in building safer, more connected communities.
