Centry® Receives UL 62368-1 And 60950-22 Certifications

Code Blue Corporation is pleased to announce that Centry®, the new IP video Help Point®, has received certification for both UL 62368-1 and 60950-22 regulations.

Code Blue has long worked to make sure that our products meet the requirements necessary to apply the ETL mark for certification for the UL standards. These safety regulations ensure that emergency communication products will be ready to reliably assist people at the touch of a button.

UL is a global independent safety science company with more than a century of expertise innovating safety solutions from the public adoption of electricity to new breakthroughs in sustainability, renewable energy and nanotechnology.

According to Intertek, a  multinational assurance, inspection, product testing and certification company, UL 62368-1 is a new hazard-based electrical safety standard:

“IEC 62368-1 merges IEC 60065, the electrical safety standard for audio, video and similar equipment, and IEC 60950-1, the standard for electrical equipment for information processing, office machinery and telecom equipment.

“In addition to bringing the scope of two previous standards under the same umbrella, IEC 62368-1 represents a significant departure from what a standard normally looks like. Instead of being based on descriptions of requirements, the standard focuses on the risks that may occur and gives manufacturers greater leeway in deciding how to design the protection.”

Many of Code Blue’s products also meet the UL 2017 standard that includes identifying emergency speakerphones as self-monitoring to ensure they are always available to provide help to those who need it.

Adherence to important code and regulations like these is another example that illustrates the care and dedication we devote to all of our products.
